1. What you are buying
A slot is a specific, named part of the Ownpagebid website (for example the Hero headline, a navigation link, a service card or a Cheap Seat). When you buy a slot you acquire the right to have your submitted content displayed in that slot, and to have it link to your website, for as long as you remain the highest bidder. You are not buying the website, any intellectual property, or any guarantee of traffic, clicks or results.
2. Prices and bids
- Every slot starts at $1 (USD).
- While a slot is unowned, the minimum bid is $1.
- While a slot is owned, the minimum next bid is the current price plus an increment: +$1 at $1–$9, +$5 at $10–$99, +$10 at $100 and above.
- You may bid any whole-dollar amount at or above the minimum. There is no maximum other than the per-transaction limit of our payment processor.
- Your bid becomes the slot's new current price. Stripe is the merchant of record for the sale, so it adds any tax due in your country at checkout and may present the payment in your local currency: the amount charged to your card can therefore differ from your bid. A valid promotion code, if we are running one, is applied on top.
3. Payments are final
All payments are final and non-refundable. In particular, if another buyer outbids you, your payment is not refunded, in whole or in part. This is the fundamental rule of the product: each successful bid is a completed purchase of ownership for an indefinite but uncertain period. By paying you accept that this period may be very short.
The one exception is when the slot changes hands while you are completing checkout and your bid is no longer sufficient. Your card is charged the moment you pay, so in that case we refund the payment in full, automatically, and email you to explain what happened.
4. Being outbid
When someone bids more than the current price, ownership transfers immediately upon confirmed payment. The previous owner's content is removed from the live page, the previous owner receives an email, and the previous ownership is recorded permanently in the slot's public history (owner name, amount, dates and the content submitted at purchase). You cannot have a historical ownership record removed except where required by law.
5. Duration
Ownership has no expiry date and no subscription. It ends only when you are outbid, when we remove your content for breaching the Terms, if the payment behind it is refunded or charged back, or if the service is discontinued. We may discontinue, redesign or restructure the website (including removing or renaming slots) at any time; this does not entitle you to a refund.
6. Your content
You are responsible for everything you submit. Content must be lawful, accurate, non-misleading and yours to use. Links must point to legitimate websites you control or are authorised to promote. We may remove content that breaches these rules without refund; the slot then becomes available again and your ownership is recorded in history as removed. See the Terms for the full content policy.
7. Managing your slot
Your email address is your identity. We send a private management link to it after every purchase and on request. Keep it private: anyone with the link can edit your slot. Links expire after 7 days; you can request a new one at any time.
8. Fairness and errors
Ownership transfers are processed in the order payments are confirmed, one at a time per slot. If two buyers pay for the same slot at nearly the same time, the first confirmed payment wins; the other bid is re-validated and, if no longer sufficient, refunded in full.
